The meeting is expected to create cooperation between the two agencies on OTT regulatory development, according to National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) secretary-general Takorn Tantasith. The FCC chairman also proposed a memorandum of understanding to develop cooperation between the two agencies. Mr Takorn said August is the best time to meet with the FCC because the NBTC has been reviewing the OTT regulatory framework after the NBTC board scrapped the previous framework on July 5. The NBTC will host the Asean Telecom Regulator's Council (ATRC) meeting in September, which will focus on OTT regulatory development concepts. "At the meeting in August, we will raise this topic to the FCC chairman and ask for the FCC's cooperation," Mr Takorn said.
